Death Captain Belric Legost is a Death Knight in the Undead Scourge. He is currently commanding the forces of Tempestus Valley in their war with the forces of the Argent Bulwark and Argent Crusade.

In life, Belric was once a Paladin and Knight of the Silver Hand. Belric Legost was supposedly slain by forces of the Argent Bulwark in Tempestus Valley in July of 624 K.C. But it has since come out that he survived the encounter and lives, continuing to lead the Order of Dusk.

History[]

In Life[]

In life, Belric Legost was a man from Lordaeron, specifically the Verthill Valley. Before becoming a paladin in the leadup to the Second War, Belric was a militia leader for the Verthill Militia. Seen as a pious man, he was one of a few members of the Verthill Militia selected to become paladins during and after the Second War. As he was trained, he quickly become well known in the lands of Eastern Darrowmere. Nothing could stand in this Paladin's way, not even the Plague of Undeath. The man fought for a time before eventually being overcome by forces of the Scourge. After being killed, he was resurrected as a Death Knight.

In Death[]

War Against the Lich King[]

Belric was not very active initially, instead for months and years after his death he was tortured beneath Icecrown Glacier. It took the Scourge well over six years to truly break Belric of his sanity and devotion of the Light. Though once he was broken, he was truly broken. Many within the Scourge argued that he was useless with his sanity lost. Instead though he was put to the test, sent to lead the armies of undeath, and so he did.

During the Invasion of Northrend, Belric was put incharge of a legion of undead. While he had been broken, the man still held onto his ambition that he had in life. With this legion he took over a small valley that was scarcely settled and began fortifying it. From here, he began directing his forces to raid local military outposts of the Alliance, Horde and Argent Crusade to continue gathering bodies to grow his forces.

It was from these raids that he drew their ire, and while the Alliance and Horde refused to act, the Argent Crusade instead did. Gathering a force of Argents, comprised of a number of under-strength companies, including the Argent Bulwark, and a force of mercenaries, they marched on the valley. What resulted was a siege that lasted well past the fall of Icecrown.

This battle, the Battle of Tempestus Valley, led to Belric and his forces scattering, and the fortress of Brittle Bone Keep left abandoned. However, Belric was not yet defeated. The Death Knight continued to grow his power, in secret, and built up his forces, forming them into the Order of Dusk.

After some years, while the Alliance and Horde fought in Pandaria and the Argents were distracted and the Argents struggled to maintain their vigil, Belric Legost and his order struck, retaking Brittle Bone Keep and destroying the small villages the Argents had established after the first battle.

Second Battle of Tempestus Valley[]

During a push against the Scourge in the winter to spring of 624 K.C., it was discovered by the Argent Bulwark that Belric Legost and his Order of Dusk were behind the Scourge's increase in activity. After destroying the necropolis of Maraxilan, the Argent Bulwark began their push on Tempestus Valley in the summer of 624. Assisted by a force of a few thousand Argent Crusaders, the Bulwark led a hard fought campaign to retake the valley. Though it took some months, the Argents eventually pushed onto Brittle Bone Keep, capturing most of it and then confronting Fargul Nerok. After Xalcla killed, or supposedly, killed the lieutenant of Belric, the Argents pushed into the spire of the keep, where they faced Belric himself.

After a long battle, the Argents killed the man and his body was cast forth from the spire. Thinking their victory was achieved, the Argents pulled out, with a token force staying behind to clean up the valley and oversee resettlement. Led by Charles Reynolds this force spent some months in the valley, reclaiming it, or so they thought.

Recent[]

Thought to be dead, the Death Knight actually had survived the second battle, some how. For years he instead waited, letting his power and his order grow until he revealed himself. It was not until the summer of 628 K.C., almost four years since his original fall, that he revealed himself. With his minion, Yulmon revealing who his master was to the Argents as they assaulted Tenarus during Expedition Plaguewood.

As his existance was revealed and the Argents began their offensive against the Scourge and other forces of evil during the Reclaiming of Lordaeron, Belric began planning and plotting his return.
